Summary: The Japanese would have succeeded with their attack on the American Naval base if their three aircraft carries were in port and they had destroyed their oil depots. This was poor planning by the Japanese leaving Americas most dangerous ships unharmed. This attack resulted in the US to declare war on Japan as it was not safe for them anymore, in the mean while Hitler had declared war on the US.
